Countries: Somalia
Client: BBC Media Action
BBC Somalia commissioned HACOF to conduct an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) project aimed at enhancing audience engagement and feedback mechanisms for BBC programs. The primary objective of this project was to establish a system-based, accessible short-code number, allowing audiences to provide feedback efficiently. By integrating digital communication tools, the initiative sought to strengthen the interaction between BBC programs and the Somali public, ensuring that listeners could share their views and concerns through an easy-to-use platform.
The project included several key components, such as the creation of short-code numbers for call-ins, the establishment of SMS short-codes for text-based feedback, and the development of an online portal for recording and storing both calls and SMS messages. These features ensured that audience responses were captured, analyzed, and utilized to enhance content delivery and responsiveness. Additionally, HACOF conducted the survey to assess the general landscape of how people in Somalia access information and the overall impact of key communication sectors within communities.
