Countries: Somalia
Client: UN-Women
UN-Women contracted HACOF to conduct a Gender Climate Assessment aimed at examining opportunities for climate-smart agriculture and livelihood enhancement for crisis-affected and at-risk women in select locations in Somalia. This assessment sought to identify sustainable agricultural practices that could improve resilience, promote food security, and empower women by integrating gender-sensitive approaches into climate adaptation strategies.
As part of the study, HACOF conducted a comprehensive gender, climate, and conflict analysis to assess how adopting climate-smart agricultural techniques could enhance productivity while mitigating the impact of climate change. The analysis explored the intersection of gender roles, environmental sustainability, and conflict dynamics, ensuring that proposed solutions were inclusive and adaptable to the specific needs of affected communities. By promoting innovative and sustainable farming techniques, the initiative aimed to improve the living conditions of drought-affected populations.
